Peterborough United’s Barry Fry reveals Nottingham Forest loanee has turned down interest from League Two duo

In an interview with the Peterborough Telegraph, Peterborough United Director of Football Barry Fry has revealed that League Two duo Milton Keynes Dons and Lincoln City have registered interest in striker Jason Cummings.

League Two promotion hunting duo Milton Keynes Dons and Lincoln City have shown an interest in taking Nottingham Forest striker Jason Cummings on loan for the remainder of the season, Peterborough United’s Barry Fry has revealed.

However, the Forest loanee is unwilling to make the move to either side as he does not want to play in League Two.

Speaking to the Peterborough Telegraph, Fry has said that Cummings “has become a problem”, with question marks surrounding his immediate future.

“Jason has become a problem,” Fry stated.

“MK Dons and Lincoln have shown an interest in taking him, but he doesn’t want to drop into League Two. There are also Scottish club chasing him, but Jason also doesn’t want to move back up there, even though he’s spending all of his time there at the moment.

“I am speaking to Forest to see if they can help shift him on as it’s in their interests as well. He has no future with us.”

Jason Cummings made an electric start to life at Peterborough, picking up the award for League One Player of the Month in August, after scoring six goals in his first five League games for The Posh. However, since then, the Scot has not scored once in League One for Steve Evans’ side. His other two goals have come in the EFL Trophy, scoring against Brighton and Hove Albion’s Under-23s and League Two side Exeter City.

The form of Ivan Toney has seen him drop out of the starting eleven and the return of Matty Stevens from his loan spell with Slough Town has left him way down the pecking order at London Road.
